Although Kalanchoe is a hardy, low maintenance plant suited to most positions, they prefer and will thrive in brighter spots. Including some direct sun.
Although they will tolerate some lower light/shaded positions for short periods, this should be kept to a minimum and not positioning we would recommend.
Kalanchoe is a succulent type plant, and therefore prefer drier conditions over wet. Be sure not to over water.
Roughly weekly watering in the summer months, but only when the kokedama is dry and light to hold. Through winter this will be less, generally around every 2 weeks. Again, be sure the kokedama is dry, and light when held.
HOW TO WATER
Fully submerge your kokedama in a bowl, sink or bucket. You may need to hold it under for a moment! Allow to soak for 10-15 minutes until kokedama feels heavy and full.
It is important to gently squeeze out excess water from the kokedama by pressing between two hands, on the sides towards the base. This will ensure your kokedama does not stay waterlogged which will prevent conditions such as root rot, fungus gnats and mould. As the moss and twine are natural products they are biodegradable and as such, squeezing out the excess water will prevent deterioration, prolonging the life of your kokedama.
